November 22nd, 2007 Nowadays scientists can make copies of plants, animals, and even human beings. We call this “cloning”. There is nothing new about cloning at all. Ancient Greeks cloned plants over 4000 years ago and the first cloned frog appeared in 1968. Twenty-nine years later, in 1997, Dr. Ian Wilmut and other follow researchers from Edinburgh University, Scotland, managed to clone an adult sheep from a single cell to produce a lamb (Dolly) with the same genes as its mother. Some people are worried because scientists started to think about cloning human beings.
